PREP

for lash lift & extension treatments

to help you get the best out of your treatment,

please have a read below of some important points that will prepare you for your appointment.

DO:

  • Have a patch test done

A patch test must be taken 48 hours prior to your treatment.

  • Shower prior to your appointment.

You'll want to keep those lashes as dry as possible for at least 24 hours after your appointment (48 hours is even better!). Eliminating any unnecessary contact with water or steam within the first 48 hours will insure that the bond between the semi permanent lashes and your natural lashes has enough time to properly set. This includes avoiding activities such as swimming, saunas and steam rooms.

  • Wear comfortable clothing.

Lash extensions take time, so make the most of it and use this opportunity to fully unwind. Here at Alchemy LAB, your comfort is our priority. Flat treatment beds can place strains on the neck, lower back and knees, especially during longer treatments. We prefer to use a padded, leather recliner which fits the natural curves of the body and ensures your comfort for longer. Wearing comfortable clothes will also allow you to make the most of this time to relax and be pampered.

  • Remove your contacts.

Even though your eyes will be closed during the application of your eyelash extensions, to avoid any discomfort, please make sure contact lenses are removed before treatment, allowing eyes to be comfortable in a natural and rested state.

  • Bring headphones & hit "do not disturb".

Maybe you have a podcast or audiobook you want to catch up on, or a favourite playlist that gets you into Zen mode. If you prefer to lean back and snooze, that's ok too! Whatever works best for you, this is your time to sit back and relax. Hit "do not disturb" on your phone and take some time for you!

DON'T:

  • Wear makeup.

Or anything on the eye at least! Makeup products worn close to the eye will need to be removed prior to the lash application process. Arriving at your appointment with a clean face will save time and eliminate the need for your lash stylist to remove any eye makeup.

  • Apply face creams or sunblock to the eye area.

The oils within many moisturizers and sunblock can prevent the eyelash glue from properly adhering to your natural lashes, dramatically reducing the longevity of your eyelash extensions. Ensure you use an oil-free cleanser on your eyes before your appointment too!

  • Wear mascara.

Again, lashes must be fresh and clean in order to be properly prepped for lash extensions. This means no mascara!

  • Bring a scrunchie.

If you've long hair, bring a scrunchie and tie hair into a low pony so its out of your face.

  • Curl or tint your lashes on the day of your lash application.

We need your eyelashes to be in the most natural and healthy state possible prior to your lash extension application. Please do not curl your eyelashes the day of your appointment. If you tint your lashes, please ensure this is done at least 48 hours prior to getting lash extensions, as tinting products can interfere with the bond.
